Passion for Photography

In my last two years of school, which feels a lifetime ago, I discovered a passion for photography. I had an awesome time photographing my subjects around the school yard during class time.  Taking photos was one of my favourite hobbies , when secretly I didn’t want to tackle the difficult subjects and felt that I was taking the easy way out.

Back then we used the manual camera with film to take all of our shots and therefore it was an exciting challenge to get some photos that were on film and I could take them into the darkroom to process. We would help produce our school newsletter and take interesting photos of things around the school to capture the latest news.

  • I did a lot of black and white and sepia toned photos
  • I loved taking photos of people and either in action or still photography
  • An I learned how to take a photo from my family tree book and make it like a sensational original.

I wanted to work in the field of Commercial Photography so I did work experience at the Wangaratta Council taking photos for their local newsletter and was able to work in their onsite dark room to process the photographs that I took.

Circumstances led me to other career paths and I fell in love with Web design in the last 10 years following another creative passion has now led me back to ignite a desire that I has almost shovelled under the mat. It’s funny though how a deep passion can reunite very easily and be brought into life when you have the right tools to do so.
